Frequently Asked Questions
-
I love your jewellery where can I view the full range?Whilst we try to have a good selection of stock on the website at all times, the vast, ever-changing range of products we offer (particularly earrings) is best viewed at our events; visit our events page to see what’s coming up. If you’re local to Ipswich you’re also welcome to contact us to make an appointment to come and shop at a time that suits you. If you hear of an event you think would be great for us please let us know as we’d love to spread the Lucy Lockets word!
-
I saw an item at an event recently and can’t find it on your website, can I still purchase it?As mentioned above not all our jewellery is on the website so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need help purchasing and we will do our best to help.
-
How long do personalised orders take?As all the personalised items are hand-made to order, the average turnaround time is 1-2 weeks although we’ll confirm this with you at the time of order and we can often be flexible if it's urgent! Please note at busy times of the year, such as Christmas, the lead time can be longer.
-
How do you take the finger/hand/foot/paw prints for the personalised orders? For the best results we ask you to visit our studio in Ipswich, Suffolk for a fingerprint appointment, but if you are too far away or it's for someone that has passed away we can send out a putty kit with instructions for you to take the impressions yourself. For the hand/foot/paw prints we post out an ink-less wipe kit to you.
-
I want to send my item as a gift, is this possible?Lucy Lockets items make excellent gifts (in our humble opinion!) and we love sending these out directly for you. Simply amend the delivery address to that of the lucky recipient and when selecting your product, fill out the 'Gift Message' section and we will include a hand-written note with your delivery. Rest assured no paperwork is sent with the order so no prices will be seen.
-
Are your products real silver? We get asked this question a lot and the answer is always YES! The handmade personalised items are all solid silver with sterling silver jump rings and chains and the online shop section is all 925 sterling silver. The yellow and rose gold items are also 925 sterling silver with a hard layer of gold plating. We advise that whilst the plating is relatively hard wearing, it can wear away over time and can be affected by elements such as exposure to water, heat, chlorine and chemicals found in body lotions/cosmetics/hand sanitisers/perfumes as well as different skin types. This is normal wear and tear though and is not considered a fault.
-
How will my jewellery be packaged? All Lucy Lockets Jewellery comes beautifully presented in a pretty satin pouch or gift box making them ideal gifts.
-
Is your jewellery hallmarked? We have our hallmark registered with the London Assay Office for our hand-made jewellery, but items below 7.78g sold in the UK are not required by law to be hallmarked.
-
How do I keep my silver jewellery looking its best?We recommend storing your jewellery in a dark, dry place, ideally a jewellery box when not being worn. All sterling silver jewellery can be affected by chemicals so keep your jewellery away from swimming pools, hot tubs and sea water where possible. Perfumes, sun creams, hairspray and body lotion can also lead to tarnishing so limit exposure to these things too. If your silver jewellery begins to tarnish we suggest using a jewellery polishing cloth to remove the black and bring back the shine! You can purchase your own cloth in the Lucy Lockets Jewellery Shop. Limit the use of these cloths on gold plated silver as buffing too hard could prematurely wear the plating.

Do you offer gift vouchers?Yes absolutely and you can choose to have the voucher sent digitally to you or directly to the recipient or opt for a printed gift card in a pretty envelope to be posted out with space for a personal message. You can purchase gift vouchers through our gift voucher page.
