Terms & Conditions

All our Lucy Lockets Personalised Jewellery is handmade with extreme care and attention to detail and we hope you love your precious jewellery. As each order is unique and bespoke to you, unfortunately we cannot accept returns on personalised orders.

Refunds are only offered on personalised items if they’re deemed faulty or an error has been made on our part (i.e we’ve made an incorrect spelling). Any faults/errors need to be notified to us within five days of receiving the order.

We love the hand crafted, unique nature of our personalised jewellery and ask that you please allow for some slight natural variation in shape/size due to the shrinking of the silver clay in the firing process.

Please remember every person's fingerprint is unique and some people naturally have more defined prints than others; we pick up all the lines that are present on the finger. We suggest waiting until your child is a least six months old (or when you can visibly see some clear lines) before making an appointment/placing an order. Even for those people with less defined fingerprints the impression of their finger still makes a beautiful piece of jewellery to treasure and is unique to them. Handprint/footprints can be taken from birth.

Lead times will be discussed at the ordering stage but generally we aim to deliver your personalised order within two weeks from the date of the order/print being taken or sent to us. Where possible, we will always endeavour to help with more urgent requests. The process is slightly more involved for hand/foot/paw print jewellery so please allow slightly longer or in extremely busy periods i.e. Christmas.

We use pure silver (99.9%) to make our personalised items and all findings/chains are sterling silver. The softer nature of pure silver allows us to make the impressions required, but means it should be handled with special care. If worn everyday the item can show signs of wear over time and the details can fade, this is more apparent in bracelets/keyrings knocking against hard surfaces.

Only clean personalised jewellery with a soft polishing cloth - if you haven't yet got one of these then you can purchase one on the Lucy Lockets shop - simply head to our jewellery shop and you'll find the cloth is available here. Be sure to avoid going over the fingerprint/oxidised area too vigorously.

The jewellery we supply is intended for adult wear and could present a choking hazard for younger children. Any items purchased for children are done so at your own risk and you need to ensure they are responsible enough to wear the items safely.

Payment for personalised orders is via bank transfer at the time of ordering online or via cash/card at in person appointments.

Appointments are at our studio in Ipswich, Suffolk and can be made at a mutually convenient time for you and us. Please allow 48 hours' notice in cancelling appointments, where possible.
